Legendary Dolly Parton is gone. She died Tuesday at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, surrounded by loved ones, four days after she was admitted. The type of cancer was not disclosed. Team Dolly said she spent her life putting joy, laughter, hope, and integrity into everything she touched and that her generosity reached people she would never meet. She donated hundreds of millions of books through the Imagination Library. A girl from a two-room cabin in the Smokies who wrote "Jolene" and "9 to 5," and she still wanted to be remembered as the book lady.
