Did you know that it takes 713 gallons of water, 1/3 LBS of pesticides, and 13 LBS of carbon to make ONE t-shirt? Crazy, right? Also, did every year, about half a million tonnes of plastic microfibers leak into our oceans from washing synthetics - the equivalent to 50 million plastic bottles. These crazy facts don't even mention the inhumane and unethical practices that goes into making a majority of our clothes, so needless to say, fashion is a dirty industry.
But it doesn't have to be that way, and I'm thrilled to have Kerry Bannigan, the woman behind The Conscious Fashion Campaign, on Hey Change. We chat about UN's sustainability goals, the human element for change, and what needs to be done to change Fashion Week for the better.
If you want to learn more about the fashion industry and what you can do to start becoming a more conscious fashionista, check out my List & Guides on Hey Change World: https://heychange.world/lists-guides-1
