Art is a powerful storytelling medium, according to Aunty Zeta Thomson, a proud descendant of Yorta Yorta and Wurundjeri clans. She was the first Victorian First Nations artist to have her work exhibited at the Melbourne Museum, and is a powerful voice for the rights of First Nations peoples in custody. In this conversation, we yarn about songlines, the next generation of Elders, and the importance of exploring language. We discuss how connected we are to country and the critical nature of navigating the ‘two worlds’ we live in.
