The Church felt restrictive for Chase’s lifestyle until his heart changed and he let Jesus Christ in

"If you want answers, they are out there. But the one thing that I have learned is who do you have a testimony in? If you have a testimony in the church, if you have a testimony in the missionaries, in anything other than Jesus, it's going to fail you and you're going to fall. But if you have a testimony in Jesus and you really do believe that this is His church, all of those things-they'll pale. And when it's time for you to find those answers, you will find those answers. God works that way, line upon line, precept upon precept."
