What is acceptable when it comes to honesty, truth, and expression in professional settings? How much can you "be yourself" and express your values and beliefs to coworkers, leadership, and company culture at large? These are the questions I asked myself in the past 2.5 years working in corporate and for a mid-size media company until I recently quit to go off on my own.
The truth is, the bar is pretty damn low for what we deem acceptable because of how much we've calibrated to the least comfortable person in the room. What we think is too much might actually be normal levels of dialogue and honesty.
In this episode, Bella shares her personal journey in breaking the rules of expression in her career and raising the bar on what integrity looks like.
