Puerto Rico Status

Should Puerto Rico become a state? Over the last 50 years Washington lawmakers have introduced more than 100 bills to resolve Puerto Rico’s status, but none of them have gone anywhere. Now, there are two bills before the House of Representatives that could decide the island’s status once and for all.

Is Congress finally ready to make Puerto Rico a state? And if so, how would that benefit the island?
