Fifty million Americans watched a man die in real time. Ruby's trial lasted two weeks. Defense claimed psychomotor epilepsy caused a blackout. Prosecution said premeditated murder. Jury deliberated two hours — guilty, death sentence. Ruby appealed, won a new trial, then died of cancer before retrial. Justice denied.
