GOAT Homeschooling with Erin and Amanda
Kids & Family:Parenting
Some of our homeschool students just don't like writing, and it can be a struggle to get them to put words on a page. How can we teach it in a way that helps them to develop their authentic writing voices and still learn and grow in important skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives?
Listen today as Erin and Amanda speak with Veldorah Rice of Write from the Heart, a writing program that emphasizes helping students find their voices and grow in writing and critical thinking skills. This is accomplished through an online composition and literature program for homeschoolers as well as in 4-week workshop intensive and individualized coaching sessions, for both public and homeschooled students.
In this episode, they discuss the benefits of learning writing in a nontraditional way, how classics have important lessons to share with modern readers, and why we shouldn't shy away from controversial topics in literature.
