My guest today is Lorena Uriarte. She is an internationally recognized, Sydney-based textile artist, a modern quilter, and educator known for her vibrant designs, intricate handwork, and innovative use of repurposed fabrics, often creating unique quilted coats. With over two decades of experience, she teaches patchwork and quilting workshops locally in Australia and globally, merging traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics, and she was the 2024 QuiltCon Raleigh Charity Quilt designer.
A quote from this podcast episode:
"It's really important to constantly be learning and try new things. And part of that is that not everything works. We all make mistakes in quilting and in life. Forgive yourself and move on." - Lorena Uriarte
