New year. New revelations: Dave’s English! New releases: We kick off this episode by diving into Seiko’s US-exclusive Prospex LX Spring Drive GMT, where we talk through its titanium construction, spring drive flyer GMT movement, and gradient dial inspired by the Cygnus constellation, while asking whether its near-USD 6,600 price really makes sense under the Seiko name.
We then move on to Hublot’s Big Bang Meca-10 Street Art editions, hand-painted, UV-reactive concrete cases inspired by Miami Art Week. We look at the latest Chinese New Year releases next, including Swatch’s Year of the Horse “Riding the Clouds” watch and Longines’ more traditional Master Collection Moonphase Year of the Horse.
Not for the New Year but in that tone, there’s also the Venezianico Nereide GMT Xi’an, a red mother-of-pearl GMT celebrating the historic Silk Road that is outstanding value at around USD 1,100. We also cover Raymond Weil’s Toccata “Raymond Says” collaboration with seconde/seconde/, and rounding out the new releases with Mido’s Multifort Two Crowns in PVD rose gold.
