Cholas political history

Cholas also known as chodas.they played a prominent role in history of South India. Many inscriptions and literary sources were help to reconstruct cholas history. Vijayalaya was the founder of modern cholas he was the chief tains of pallavas and he defeated muttariyar and announced himself as a rajakesari vijayalaya.after the death of vijayalaya Aditya chola I ascended the throne.then he occupied complete thondaimandalam under his control.then parantaka 1 ascended the throne he defeated pandyas mathurai and got the title madhuraigonda.but his reign rashtrakuta invaded and lost the places in his kingdom but he himself made the cholanadu on his control . Then the main prominent rulers of the chola dynasty were Raja Raja one and rajendra one. Raja Raja 1 was a great ruler of cholas his titles were chola martanda , jayangonda, munnadi choladeva. He occupied northern srilanka and also defeated pandyas and cheras. He also defeated kalyani chalukyas when they were interfered in vengi chalukyas war of succession and he also gave his daughter kundavva to vimaladitya so here we have to know the cholas have a marital relationship with vengi chalukyas.after him rajendra I was ascended the throne. He was the worthy son of rajaraja he occupied complete srilanka.and also defeated Kalinga gangu ruler Indraradh and marched his armies towards north and defeated mahipala and got the title gangaigonda and he also defeated sangramavijayottunga varma sailendra ruler of srvijaya and he got the title of kadaramgonda. In later cholas kulottunga I was the great ruler he was the chalukya chola ruler. Last ruler of cholas was RAJENDRA III he was defeated by kakatiyas.
