As the war between Israel and Hamas rages on, the Carter Center is working to help ease tensions in the Middle East. On today’s episode of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Politically Georgia podcast, Paige Alexander, CEO of the Carter Center, discusses President Carter’s decades of commitment to bringing peace to the Middle East, starting with the peace agreement he forged as president between Israel and Egypt in 1978. The Camp David Accords are still in effect today. She reveals that the Carter Center continues to have quiet conversations with contacts on both sides of the Israel-Hamas war.
You’ll also hear former Fulton County commission chair John Eaves explain why he thinks President Biden is correct to give the commencement speech at Morehouse College, despite the fact he believes there will be “respectful” protests of the president’s support for Israel.
Plus, Tia Mitchell discusses the Democratic primary campaign for incumbent David Scott’s 13th District U.S. House seat.
