The symptoms of Ovarian Cancer can be easily dismissed, but we know early detection raises the chance of survival.
In this episode we hear from Pauline Blomfield, founder and director of K9 Medical Detection NZ Charitable Trust. K9MD’s mission is to improve the health of all New Zealanders, by using specially trained dogs working in a controlled clinical environment, to assist in the detection of cancer and other diseases.
Speciality dogs are being trained to detect cancer and other diseases in urine samples, acting as an additional way to detect and diagnose cancers, like Ovarian Cancer.
We loved getting to know more about this leading research and training, the why behind Pauline’s remarkable mission, and the incredible sensory capabilities of a dog.
