Hey Friends & Kin!
FYI: THIS, JUST LIKE ALL EPISODES OF HAND ME MY PURSE, CONTAINS PROFANITY. THIS PODCAST IS FOR ADULTS AND CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT. Now that we've gotten that out of the way...
_________
Friends & Kin, what a WHIRLWIND life has been for the past two months. I gained an ancestor & almost lost my mind. I am still in the throws of grief and trying to adjust to this new way of living a somewhat normal life, yet I feel lost in the sauce. And I mean completely LOST IN LE SAUCE! Keep me in your prayers, please.
This episode of Hand Me My Purse is, at its core, about LOVE. The love we have for ourselves. It's about relationships and the true work that must be done to prepare us for entering a space where we are truly ready to be open to a healthy partnership/relationship with someone else - romantically. I talk about the benefit of choosing to be single, as we get ready - IF WE EVEN WANT TO BE READY. SINGLE? COUPLED? The choice is OURS TO MAKE.
The Straight Facts question for this episode is something else, and my response is SOMETHING ELSE TOO! Please, go listen! What would you do in this situation?
For the We Got To Do Better segment in this episode, we have two quotes! They were too connected to not share them both. I explain in the episode. Here they are:
"The greatest lie ever told about love is that it sets you free." -Zadie Smith
"Nobody's as powerful as we make them out to be." -Alice Walker
What have my friends + kin been up to since January?
"GO WHERE YOU ARE LOVED. NOT WHERE YOU ARE TOLERATED..."
