When Your Mastermind is NOT Working

You've joined a mastermind...but it's not what you thought. In fact, you're feeling a little discouraged.

• First things first - check your perspective!

Sometimes things are different than we expected, and the dissonance makes us feel frustrated. If we're able to clear our minds and accept what IS happening, we might find that we can receive it (and benefit from it) once those old expectations are released.

• Next - check your motivations for attending!

If what you actually wanted was a referral or networking group, this isn't it (no wonder it's not working!). There's no shame in wanting to be part of a networking group, but you'll have to go elsewhere if that's what you want.

If you're lonely and just want a place to talk/vent/sit in the spotlight...this isn't it either!

If you want 100% of the attention, feedback, and focus, you might consider 1-1 consulting or coaching.

• Finally - be willing to try a different group!

Masterminds are amazing, and just because you happened to join one you don't love doesn't mean they're all pointless. Be willing to look around, ask for recommendations, and try a different group if that's it takes.
