Jaccob Slavin Selected for USA Hockey at 2026 Olympics + Hurricanes’ 7-5 Loss

It was announced on Friday morning that Jaccob Slavin will represent the USA at the 2026 Olympics in Milan. What does it mean for him and the Carolina Hurricanes after being selected? Also, the Carolina Hurricanes begin 2026 losing to the Montreal Canadiens 7-5, after a five-point night from Sebastian Aho, along with multi-point nights from Andrei Svechnikov and Nikolaj Ehlers. Despite coming back from 2-0 down to take a 4-2 lead, it was not enough as the Caandiens stormed back to win in a wild 12-goal game.
