Acclaimed Chef Marcus Samuelsson joins Scott Rechler to discuss the restaurant industry's recovery post-COVID, why New York is so special, and their mutual love of food. Last year during COVID, Marcus turned some of his restaurants into community kitchens to help serve thousands of meals a day to those in need, he helped start the Black Businesses Matter Matching Fund, and he put out his newest cookbook, The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food.
