Adam Rocha, Founder of the San Antonio Film Festival (SAFilm) Celebrates 27 years of Independent Films August 5 through 8, 2021.
Teacher, music lover and independent film enthusiast Adam Rocha started the San Antonio Film Festival (SAFilm) 27 years ago. As the world took a nosedive in 2020, Rocha pivoted and took SAFilm online with digital screenings of full length feature films, student films animated features and short film blocks.
Now that the world is beginning to open up again SAFilm will sort of be a 2020 2.0 with bringing in some of the favorite films from 2020 and new films for 2021 for an in person experience that was lacking last year.
Official About of SAFilm:

OUR MISSION
The mission of the SAFILM – San Antonio Film Festival, a nonprofit 501(c)3, is to serve as an accessible and inclusive platform for artists in the category of cinema and provide cinematic culture to a diverse audience. The San Antonio Film Festival showcases films from around the world while nurturing, fostering, and developing filmmakers of all ages.
Rocha and I have become friends over the last few years and the experience that took place at SAFilm 2019 for the 25th Anniversary was beyond fun. It was a professional and traditional film festival with a Texas flair that made you feel as if it was almost a casual vibe.
San Antonio is the spiritual and historical heart of Texas and SAFilm knows how to welcome their attendees, guest and filmmakers.
