Today I have the pleasure of welcoming one of my favorite guests, Soma Mukhopadhyay, back to the podcast.
Soma is the founder of Rapid Prompt Method, which many people mistakenly think is simply a way of communication for non speaking individuals. In reality, it provides those who’ve been turned away from other learning environments to not only learn and communicate, but also experience a whole, full, existence. “Life beyond the letter board” has taken shape over the past 30 years as Soma taught students who have presented with various types of sensory needs, behaviors, and abilities. She presumed competence with all of them and encouraged them to grow their sensory tolerance, life skills, typing, hobbies and speech. She has also encouraged parents to be more ambitious in what they want for their children and shows them how to achieve it together. Needless to say, she’s my kind of woman and this interview is a powerful one, not to be missed.
