In today’s episode of the podcast, we are joined by intrepid globetrotter, Thomas Turcich of The World Walk. Motivated by the sudden loss of a friend, Tom embarked on a 5-year mission to circumnavigate the seven continents by foot. Picking up a hitchhiker along the way, Tom and his dog Savannah are soon to be the tenth person and first dog to walk around the world.
Tune in as Thomas details the highlights and hardships of his inspiring multicontinental journey. Setting out from New Jersey, Tom, his dog, and the aluminum rickshaw-style cart have traveled over 1778 days to various corners of the globe– from Asia to Antarctica, and everything in between! As Thomas nears the end of his expedition he reflects on his solo walk– sharing with us the effects of walking over eights hours a day and the beauty of the world’s cultural diversity and hospitality. Trust us, this episode is not one you are going to want to miss!
