In this episode, we will talk with Fr. John Henry Hanson, O. Praem author of the book “Coached by Josemaría Escrivá: Lessons in Discipleship”.
Saint Josemaría Escrivá is the founder of Opus Dei (Latin for the “Work of God”). Fr. John Henry talks about the role of a coach, uses athletics as a metaphor for the spiritual life, and compares physical training to discipleship. He discusses the importance of abandoning our lives to God and also having a personal program for our spiritual lives.
Fr. John Henry’s interview can be summed up in this quote from Matthew 6:21 - For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
