This is what John Lynn shared at the first-ever face-to-face TLTF Elders gathering, and we thought that anyone interested should also have the opportunity to hear it. His exposition of Philippians 1:1-2:16 and 3:7-14 is jam-packed with meaty biblical truth as he elucidates many nuances of the Greek words behind the English we read.
Paul’s epistle to the Philippians corrects the practical failure of the believers to live out the AWESOME doctrine of the SECRET in Ephesians. What’s the point? We are supposed to DO SOMETHING about what we know about who we are IN CHRIST. For example, Ephesians shows us SEATED together with Christ, while Philippians shows us STRIVING together for the faith of the Gospel.
Philippians is a prison epistle, written near the end of Paul’s life, and it is the last epistle he wrote to a Gentile assembly. Having already established his apostleship, he introduces himself a “servant.” The pervading theme is service with joy in light of hope. This dynamic teaching will help you “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
