The Lebanese Physicians’ Podcast
Health & Fitness:Medicine
Listen to our latest episode of The Lebanese Physicians' Podcast discussing life with visual impairment in Lebanon with Yara Kobrossy who was diagnosed with retinitis pigementosa, a degenerative eye disease that leads to progressive loss of vision, at 8 years of age. Instead of letting this be a detriment, Yara completed her studies in education at the University of Balamand in Lebanon and has been involved in multiple NGOs helping improve the lives of people with disabilities in Lebanon through advocacy, enhancing access to education, promoting inclusivity at school and in the workplace, and raising awareness about the condition. Her most recent work is in ShareQ, an NGO that is promoting inclusivity for people with disabilities in schools and in the workplace.
Yara currently works 2 full time jobs, a full time mother, and a full time activist.
Please listen to this podcast and to Yara's inspiring story about how she overcame her diagnosis and visual impairment to not only complete her studies, but dedicate her life's work to improving the lives of others who are following her path.
