Your host Diane has been fascinated since childhood with all things skyward, and today we briefly introduce a new segment feature on our podcast, The Skies Above.
We will honor two traditions which were originally united as one: Astrology and Astronomy. Both derive purpose from seeking to understand the nature of life through explorations above and beyond Earth.
Humanity is often mesmerized by our local Sun and Moon, the planets we can see with the naked eye, those we later learned inhabit our solar system (thanks to the invention of the telescope) and of course stars, constellations, and heavenly bodies of all sorts, including our modern astronauts and spacecraft vehicles.
NASA stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The word Aeronautics derives from the Greek words for "air" and "to sail.”
Perhaps NASA was thinking of the Astrological sign Aquarius, whose constellation symbolizes a sky traveler pouring energy out into the cosmos. Aquarius is known for invention, innovation, outside-the-box thinking, and ideas.
NCGR stands for the National Council for Geocosmic Research, dedicated to h the highest standards of astrological education and professional skills for professional astrologers.
With left brain science, and right brain poetic symbolism, we human beings carry on ancient traditions and a modern calling to discover, learn, test, understand, and interpret life in the universe through endless inquiry and exploration.
Join us as we expand this special Wow Whispering series with musings, conversations, and guests drawn from both Astrology and Astronomy, and all they'll reflect of our insatiable human appetite for cosmic communication.

The National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc., (NCGR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the standards of astrological education and research.
Along with its U.S. membership it includes a growing number of international members and sponsors 30+ local Chapters in 20 U.S. states and 4 countries. Its Special Interest Groups (SIGs) foster dialog on various astrological specialties and its online education and educational conference bring astrologers from around the world together to grow and to learn together. Their sister organization, NCGR-PAA, allows students to leverage their astrological education into professional certification, and they welcome new members.

NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration

NASA's vision: We reach for new heights and reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind.
Next For NASA?
Thousands of people have been working around the world -- and off of it -- for decades, trying to answer some basic questions. What's out there? How do we get there? What will we find? What can we learn there, or learn just by trying to get there, that will make life better here on Earth?
Solar System and Beyond
NASA will add to its existing robotic fleet at the Red Planet with the InSight Mars lander set to study the planet’s interior. The Mars 2020 rover will look for signs of past microbial life, gather samples for future return to Earth and investigate resources that could someday support astronauts.
Sending Humans Out into Solar System: Moon to Mars
Building on this growing scientific knowledge of our solar system, NASA is developing the most advanced rocket and spacecraft to lead the next steps of human exploration farther into space than we have ever traveled before.
International Space Station
Humans are already living and working off the Earth in the one-of-a kind research laboratory in microgravity. The International Space Station serves as a blueprint for global cooperation and scientific advancements, a destination for growing a commercial marketplace in low-Earth orbit, and a test bed for demonstrating new technologies. Research on the station is the springboard to NASA’s next great leap in exploration, sending humans into deep space
