Mariann Budde is the Episcopal Bishop of Washington DC.
She is a great leader and the author of the fabulous book How We Learn to Be Brave.
Her responsibilities include the oversight of the National Cathedral and 80+ other churches and institutions in the DC area.
One of those churches is St John's Church at Lafayette Square right near the White House.
This is the church that Donald Trump used as the backdrop for his egregious "photo-op" holding a bible after ordering the clearing of the square by military personnel.
Bishop Mariann's clear condemnation of that action thrust her into national attention.
But her bravery and leadership have been growing and in service of the Common Good for decades.
Doug Pagitt talks with Bishop Mariann about faith, Common Good, and How To Learn to be Brave.
