The world has changed in a matter of months, the global pandemic has shown us that we are all connected in some amazing way. From the silence of the pandemic, we heard one voice cry out, “I can’t breathe!” With the death of George Floyd, the world screamed back, “Enough!” It was as if the silence of the stay-at-home order made this cry of discrimination into a deafening roar. Sister Geralyn, SCC, discusses how the pain and acute hatred and sin of racism violate the fundamental human dignity of those called to be children of God.
