Our first guest is Chris Hodges is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Assistance Coordination and Press and Public Diplomacy at the State Department’s Bureau for Near Eastern Affairs.
His prior assignment was as Assistant Deputy Chief of Mission and Chief of the Palestinian Affairs Unit at Embassy Jerusalem. He joined the Foreign Service in 2000 and has served as Public Affairs Officer in Jerusalem; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Accra, Ghana; as well as Deputy Director for Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein in the Office of Central European Affairs. His other tours include Suva, Fiji and Frankfurt, Germany.
We will also be speaking this morning with Brad Roth, Professor of Political Science and Law and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Political Science at Wayne State University … Roth specializes in international law, comparative public law, and political and legal theory.
His courses include Law, Authority and Resistance, International Law, International Protection of Human Rights, International Prosecution of State Actors, U.S. Foreign Relations Law, and Political Theory of Public Law. Before entering academia, he practiced law and served as law clerk to the chief justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
And Later at the bottom of the hour in SEGMENT 2 we’ll speak with Ephrem Kossaify Arab News correspondent at the United Nations … Ephrem was cited in an analysis by Middle East Policy Council for his reporting on how strong several Arab countries including Saudi Arabia were condemning the Israeli violence in Gaza and in East Jerusalem …
