The wait is (nearly) over… English extreme metal legends CARCASS will release their long-awaited, 7th studio album, “Torn Arteries,” on September 17th with Nuclear Blast Records.
In 2019 the band released their first single in over 5 years “Under The Scalpel Blade,” followed by a 4 song EP entitled Despicable (October 2020), setting a potent precedent for the full length album coming in September: “Torn Arteries.” With the album title itself referencing an old demo created by original drummer Ken Own back in the 80’s, “Torn Arteries” sits as a bookend on the modern side of the CARCASS discography, connecting directly back to where everything began over 30 years ago.
We had a chance to talk to frontman Jeff Walker about the new album and how they followed their return album Surgical Steel which was released back in 2013, which was the last time we chatted. We also discussed their tour in Australia last year for the Download Festival which was cancelled due to covid and whether he thinks touring will come back in the same way.
