Requirements for COVID-19 vaccination for transplant candidates are currently being widely considered by transplant programs. While many programs promote vaccine mandates to improve the safety of transplantation, others are reluctant to impose mandates for a variety of reasons, including issues of equity and legal concerns (including government restrictions). The impact on patients and programs has sparked a lively debate on this topic. This podcast highlights the complexity of issues related to vaccine mandates both from the provider and patient viewpoints.
