The Collective Wisdom Podcast with Cat Preston
Arts:Visual Arts
Hey there, my wise friends and welcome to episode 43 of Collective Wisdom, which today is all about the art of writing and what it can do for you. I'm in a very happy position that after years and years of filling up many, many, many, many notebooks with ideas and thoughts and reams of randomness. It did turn into a bit of a book project. I know you're probably thinking, God is she still going on about that, but the truth is that having spoken to and listened to a lot of writers, both here on the podcast and at literature festivals, and anywhere else I can find those conversations. I realised that the outcome really is not the point. It's what writing can do for you to help you find clarity about your identity, the conflicts that you find within you. Does anyone else have that experience of holding two seemingly conflicting ideas in your head at once?
Well, my guest today has a lot to say on that subject. And she has so much to share about how the practice of creating writing can really help you to understand yourself a bit better. As well as being a very gifted teacher, Adanna is also a coach. So that means that she has a superpower for really prompting you to not only find your own creative expression, but then to use it perhaps to help you guide through a transition or a challenge or, or simply moving towards doing more of what really lights you up, both in life and at work for anyone interested in the art of writing. This episode is a real gift and I'm so grateful to Adanna. So here she is to tell us a bit more about her story.
