Discovery Debrief: A Star Trek Podcast
TV & Film
The DISCOVERY DEBRIEF panel — Chris Clow (Movies.com, Comics on Consoles), Rachael Clow (Biology PhD candidate), Zaki Hasan (Zaki's Corner, MovieFilm Podcast), and Cicero Holmes (Spawn On Me Cast) — is playing catch-up once again, doubling up to discuss both "LIGHT AND SHADOWS" and "IF MEMORY SERVES" in a single podcast episode!
STAR TREK's lineage is one that goes back to 1964, when the original pilot episode, "THE CAGE" starring Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike, was first produced. That episode has largely been left alone as a standalone tale in the long-running half-century long canon of the series...until now. Not only do these two DISCOVERY episodes build on the threads they've been weaving all season, but they work up to a story that is 55 years in the making, by taking us back to the first strange new world ever explored by the USS ENTERPRISE on television. To say that our panel have a variety of thoughts on this and a whole lot more is putting it mildly.
Beyond that, we react to the identity crisis of HUGH CULBER, the family dynamics in the House of SAREK, the event that split apart SPOCK and MICHAEL BURNHAM, and the ongoing saga of SECTION 31 in the 23rd century!
