3TWO1 is a South African hip-hop solo act from Pretoria East, Nellmapius. Born Mongezi Brian Zwane in June 1995, raised by a single mother. He started his music journey in high school with one goal, which was to make great music and uplift his community to realise their potential through the music. He started recording and performing at the age of 15. Furthermore he also managed to study and graduate in graphic design at the Tshwane University of Technology so that the can become his own creative director which sets him apart because he is more than capable to be dependent on his skills.
In 2013, he released a song that had him on the airwaves titled “Unorthodox Ambition”, this song helped get recognition so much that the following year he joined a group called “Lemapi”. The group had the same vision as he did that why he is still apart of them today. 3TWO1 along with his group members managed to release a mixtape in 2015, which had the support of the community so much, that they could self-fund four music videos from that mixtape, two of which appeared Channel O. The solo artist has had the fortune of being play-listed on campus radio and YFM. 2015 was also a year where he joined a charity organization where he helped the community and donated resources. He is also a board member of youth-run organization that assists with skill development in aviation.
In 2016, he was part of Bridges EP alongside the group, Lemapi. The EP earned itself a 2-hour slot on YFM’s “Live n Rewired” segment. This was big for the group because it
allowed over 700 000 listeners to be able to vibe to their music and style. In 2017, the group further went on to nd themselves on SABC’s “Morning Live”, another rewarding performance.
In 2017, the solo artist moved to Maboneng, Johannesburg so that he can broaden his audience and take a step closer to the music industry. Moving to Johannesburg also allowed him to him to work at David Tlale Coutures yet showing that he is a multi-artist. He later went on to with hip hop duo B3nchmarq on their EP, “ASPEN”, the song he worked was “Unapologetic” in which he was featured the song play-listed on MTV Base and Channel O. The same year released a solo track titled “All Day” which available on all digital stores. In 2018, he’s started the year on a good note by featuring in Limpopo’s popular DJ - King Bash, the song titled “Hamba Man” where his industry brothers B3nchmarq.
