Renoites- The Podcast about Reno Nevada
Society & Culture
The Reno City Council has a vacancy in ward 5 following the resignation of Council Member Neoma Jardon. Ward 5 encompasses much of Downtown Reno, UNR, and stretches far into the west and northwest of the city. The current city council will be appointing a new city council person from ward 5, and has narrowed the field of applicants to a final three.
I strongly encourage you to listen to all three episodes as soon as possible, share them with your friends, and let the city council know which of these candidates you would like you represent you for (at least) the next 2 years.
The timeline for this process is FAST. It will work as follows:
Tuesday 8/30 - Q&A Meet and Greet (Virtual and In-Person) at City Hall
Wednesday 8/31 - In Person Meet and Greet at Fire Station 11 on Mae Anne
Wednesday 9/7 - The City Council will hold a special meeting and make a selection of which finalist will serve on the city council representing ward 5
