At the core of the Christian faith are our two sacraments, Baptism and the Lord’s Table. Both sacraments are based on “covenant,” that one-way agreement of love God has for us. When children are dedicated through baptism in the Lord we call them “Child of the Covenant.” What does child of the covenant mean – not only for children but for all of us. If you don’t understand the critical concept of covenant, then this Sunday morning is for you. For without and strong understanding of covenant you cannot understand how to live the Christian life and how to raise children of the covenant.
