Sope Aluko is a Nigerian-born actress and was raised in the UK. Sope portrays ‘Shaman’ in Marvel Studios’ ‘The Black Panther’ which opened in theaters in February 2018. Directed by Ryan Coogler, ‘Black Panther’ is one of just seven films to earn well over $600 million in the U.S. and thus far grossing over $1.2 billion worldwide.
Aluko has booked recurring roles on Netflix's Bloodline, NBC's Law & Order SVU and Parks & Recreation with guest appearances on USA Network's Burn Notice, Graceland and Lifetime's Army Wives. Sope will also be seen in Starz’s Counterpart later this season. In 2019, look for Sope to star alongside Sam Rockwell and Taraji P. Henson in The Best of Enemies.
Her film credits include supporting roles in feature films like, Identity Thief, 96 Minutes, Grass Stains, The Good Lie, Pitch Perfect and more. You can catch Aluko in Marvel’s Venom set to release this October and come 2019 will be seen in Starz’s Counterpart.
Sope Aluko has a degree in Engineering and a master’s degree in Marketing. A mother of two, Sope splits her time between Miami and Los Angeles.
