Most people don’t think of AIDS as something that affected women and families. Until August 20, 1990, Julie Lewis was one of those people. On that day, she was diagnosed with HIV and thrust into the scary world of AIDS. Julie was told she had three to five years to live. As the mother to three young children, she made every effort to create lasting memories while managing the debilitating side effects of early medications. Her diagnosis began a path of advocacy, faith, and positivity despite her life's detour. Today, Julie works to make quality affordable healthcare available to those in under-served communities. Through the 30/30 Project, Julie has raised funds to build 30 health facilities in 9 different countries. Julie is the mother to Grammy Award winning musician, Ryan Lewis, and is the author of the book, Still Positive: A Memoir.
