The introduction of a common charger for a range of portable electronic devices by the end of 2024 will benefit consumers and the planet.
So says Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune. She was speaking in the European Parliament where MEPs this week overwhelmingly voted for new rules to make USB type-C the common charging standard for small electronic devices by the end of 2024.
Having different chargers for different devices is a major headache for many people and it leads to tonnes of unnecessary e-waste. Deidre Clune says a common charger for multiple devices will be very welcome.
