Stephen King may be the master of horror, but in this episode, Xavier and Travis take a look back at some of his best work that shows he’s also a master of character stories as well. They discuss and breakdown three adaptations from the book “Different Seasons” which you may have heard about: SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, APT PUPIL, and STAND BY ME. They take a look at the cast from each of them, the characters, what worked for the movies and what didn’t translate very well, a connected universe within the books, the memorable moments and scenes, how they were received at the box office, the lasting effects of growing up with Stand By Me, and much more. They wrap up by ranking all three movies and getting a little sidetracked by some talk about IT (both the 1990 and current versions) and how Pet Sematary possibly caused psychological damage to X back in the day.
