Aminata Conteh-Biger’s life experience, does not define who she is today. Her idyllic childhood in Sierra Leone, West Africa was brought to an abrupt halt, when she was kidnapped, aged eighteen, during the 11-year civil war. She experienced sexual abuse and torment during captivity and spent months on the run with her kidnapper. After her release and returning to her family she was able to forgive this man and move on with her life. Today she is a shining example to others. In Aminata’s own words she expresses, “it is liberating to know who you are.” Aminata is a CEO of the Aminata Maternal Foundation, and she describes life, ‘as a beautiful crazy dance.”
