The National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN) has now published their Framework for Academic Misconduct Investigation and Case Management.
This podcast contains an interview with Dr Yvonne Kavanagh and Aisling Reast, Co-Chairs of the NAIN Working Group, which developed and produced the framework after a process of extensive national consultation across the higher education sector in Ireland. The interview explores the inspiration for the development of this ‘cutting edge’ new resource and the extensive process of consultation, revision and feedback which enabled the production of the final version. The Chairs reflect on the challenges encountered in producing a resource which was developed by the sector for the sector. Yvonne and Aisling, along with the Working Group members, were core to the framework’s development with a clear vision of the intended impacts they hope it can achieve and they discuss and explain what this driving vision was and how they hope it will enable further positive developments across the sector in enabling institutions and staff to manage academic misconduct and, most importantly, to further safeguard and protect learners.
