Jesus gave the church two ordinances to follow until He returns: baptism and communion. The purpose of communion is to remember Christ and His saving grace at the cross, making it a powerful way to appropriate all that Christ did for us. Often people are participating in communion without fully understanding what it means. Once you discover the purpose of communion you will eagerly participate and enjoy all of the benefits of knowing Christ.
