So many of us Canadians (and beyond!) listened to this man's distinctive voice every week for 19 years. Arthur Black, writer and longtime radio personality, was the host of Basic Black on CBC Radio every Saturday morning from 1983 to 2002, producing eclectic, quirky, extraordinary radio while speaking with ordinary folks. What a treat for Lynn Thompson to meet Arthur and his spouse Lynne on a Vancouver Island beach in 2008, and then visit them at their home on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia for this conversation. Lynne prepared tea for a break at the 30 minute mark! August is Arthur's birthday month. Refreshing this recording is a tip of the hat to a remarkable man who is dearly missed.
