Futurized - thought leadership on the future
Technology
Professor David Fisher, chairman of the Department of Dermatology and director of the Melanoma Program at Massachusetts General Hospital (@massgenbrigham) is our guest on episode 138 of the Futurized podcast (@Futurized2). Futurized host Trond Arne Undheim (@trondau) interviews David. The topic is The Future of Melanoma Research.
In this conversation, they talk about the evolution of melanoma research and the advances made in recent years.
Trond's takeaway:
Melanoma is still a fear-inducing disease which has drastic consequences for the patients who contract it. On the other hand, the medical community has made significant advances against it in recent years, but it has taken time, a lot of attempts, and the battle is far from over. Immunotherapy has proven to be a game changer. But will all patients get this type of therapy in time and who will bear the costs?
