In John the first part of chapter 7 of his Gospel, John identifies various groups of people as those who didn’t believe in Jesus. But it’s not the non-religious who are called out for their unbelief, but the religious and the people who were following Jesus as seemed to be his supporters. Through this teaching he forces us to rethink what it really means to believe in Jesus.
