635: Do Not Grow Weary In The Waiting
Send a textIn this episode of The Pursuit of Manliness, we walk through Joshua 14–21 and confront a reality every man knows: waiting can be very difficult. The land had been promised. The battles had been fought. But now came the slow work of allotment, boundaries, and settling in. For some, the promise felt delayed. For others, it may have felt overlooked. Yet in the waiting, God was still working. In this episode we look at:Caleb’s unwavering faith — decades after the promise was given, he was still ready to take the hill country. He did not grow bitter. He did not grow passive. He did not grow weary. The steady faithfulness of God in distributing the inheritance exactly as He said He would. The quiet obedience required to trust the Lord when progress feels slow and recognition feels small.Joshua 21:45 reminds us: “Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.”Learn more about The Pursuit of Manliness: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/ Subscribe to Recalibrate, the daily podcast from The Pursuit of Manliness: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/recalibrate/id1797551549Join The Herd: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/join-the-herdRegister for our 2026 Fall Men's Retreat: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/2026-mens-retreatSupport the show
634: Taking Care of The Temple
Send a textIn Mark 11 we see Jesus showing His displeasure of what has become His temple and what it was doing to those who were to benefit from it. Many times as men we appreciate the emotion that we see from Jesus. However when we step back and consider how we are bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, (1 Corinthians 3:16) we must consider how Jesus views the way we are taking care of our temple. 633: The Dangers of Spiritual Retirement
Send a textIn Joshua 13, we read the sobering words: “Joshua was old and advanced in years…” (Joshua 13:1). The battles have been many. The victories significant. The scars real. Yet the Lord tells him, “There remains yet very much land to possess.”In this episode of The Pursuit of Manliness, we issue a clear charge to older men: Do not disengage. Do not coast. Do not check out.Our culture tells seasoned men to slow down, sit back, and let someone else carry the weight. But Scripture shows us something different. Even in advanced years, Joshua is still leading, still dividing the land, still stewarding responsibility, and still obeying the Lord. 631: One Round At A Time
Send a textSome men are doing the best they can. They are showing up, putting in the work, providing well and using their life to benefit others. Getting worn down is inevitable. We should expect life to knock us down a few times, the question is, "Will we continue to get back up and answer the bell one round at a time?"
