POSTCAST: Sweep Falls SHORT As Mets DON'T Have Walk Off Magic Two Days In A Row

The New York Mets had the chance for the series sweep and a second straight walk-off victory, but their 10th inning comeback fell a run short in the 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nolan McLean first start of the 2026 campaign was a bumpy one early, but he battled through to give the Mets 5 solid innings. And just like yesterday's clash, this game turned into a battle of the bullpens.  Unlike yesterday, however, the Mets bullpen loss some steam. POSTCAST: Luis Robert's WALK-OFF Homer Gives Mets Extra Innings W Over Pirates

It wasn't pretty, but the New York Mets secured their first series win of 2026 courtesy of a Luis Robert walk-off three run home run.  On what was a cold and windy day in Queens, pitching was the story early and late. Both David Peterson for the Mets and Mitch Keller for the Pirates found their grooves early and it was a tough day for the lineups.  The Pirates were able to strike first in the 10th, but the Mets put together a rally to tie it in the bottom half of the frame. But, with the bases loaded and no outs, were unable to get the winning run across.
