S02E20: "Witness" Original Airdate: 4/29/03 When Clark witnesses a shipment of refined kryptonite get stolen, he finds himself unable to stop the thieves. But when he connects the crime to one of Smallville's rising baseball stars,(It's Brad from Home Improvement)he learns the gang is using the kryptonite to give themselves augmented strength. Talk about juicin'! Meanwhile, Lana's relationship with her father improves, but she learns that his wife is filing for divorce; and she is the reason. Tension between Chloe and Clark put their friendship in jeopardy, and Chloe finds herself in the orbit of Lionel Luthor. Curiously, the Torch is vandalised. After Clark accidentally throws him into the windshield of the new sheriff's car, he finds himself in her crosshairs. Meanwhile, a former flame of Dr. Bryce ANSON-BUSHES her, and begins stalking her, and implies that Lex violently attacked him. After Dr. Bryce is assaulted after the sheriff fails to listen to Lex' warning, he takes matters into his own hands. Lana decides to learn how to defend herself, and uses her newfound confidence to help Clark get clear of the false lawsuit her attacker is threatening.  It's the one with all the ambushes! Lex becomes suspicious of Clark and believes he has more knowledge than he lets on. After Clark accidentally burns a glyph into the side of the barn, he is contacted by the reclusive Virgil Swann.
