Pimienta: What's the Worst That Could Happen?
Málaga showed a lot of bravery this past weekend against Eibar the Brave, as they put in a hearty performance with ten men against the team top of the pack at the moment. We looked back on what was eventually a 3-1 loss, but a 3-1 loss with plenty of positives to take from it. Then we’re off to the Canary Islands to look ahead to our Friday night clash with Las Palmas. To talk all things Pío Pío, we were joined by Matt Rayns of the Las Palmas UK Fan Zone.
All Aboard La Guedeneta
It’s all aboard La Guedeneta this week as Málaga scored 3…yes 3 goals…to beat Leganés at Butarque. Not even a superhero like Súper Pepino could have thwarted Málaga in this game as a great performance led to a resounding win and a comfortable 3 points for Los Blanquiazules. We looked back over that away win before preparing to welcome top of the league Eibar to La Rosaleda this coming Saturday. Plus, we discuss which mascot could beat up Súper Pepino, our love for Fernando Llorente and we give a lot of love to the excellent work done for the ‘Spanish Football Content Creators 4 Ukraine’ live stream.
Squat Game
There was a real improvement from Málaga this weekend against Real Valladolid, but sadly they threw away a two-goal lead to earn only a point in the first game of the Guede era. We discussed what sort of impact the new manager has had already, before looking ahead to our game against Leganés this coming Saturday. Plus, we discussed Genaro signing a new contract and Pablo Guede’s impressive squat pose on the touchline.
Vamos a La Rosaleda - Málaga 2-2 Valladolid
It was the first matchday of the new Pablo Guede era and the Guiricast were there in force with Matt joined by Alex, Nick and former guest Marc Harrison (Matt's brother) in the stands of La Rosaleda. And what a great game too, although Málaga will be disappointed at letting a 2-0 lead slip. There are the usual reactions from the stands, the prematch views at Bar Hermanos Madrid and Marc speaks in glowing terms about his first trip to La Rosaleda.
Pablo Guede Puede
He’s Natxo manager anymore...that’s right, Natxo Gonzalez is out at La Rosaleda after just 1 win in 10. And we’re in with the new in the form of Pablo Guede. We discussed our 2nd managerial change of the season, as well as looking back over Natxo’s final game as manager - last Friday night’s 1-0 loss away to Girona. Then it was time to look ahead to the first game of the Pablo Guede era, with his spell at La Rosaleda starting with Real Valladolid coming to the town. Hopefully, 'Pablo Guede puede...'
