31. Medieval Torture & #Corecore
Howdy! This week on YSCO, we bring you two tortuous topics: medieval torture and the incomprehensible movement of #corecore. Jason lists some of his favourite medieval torture devices and techniques and the crimes you would have had to commit to deserve such a punishment. In a first on this pod, Kat presents a topic that has Jason completely baffled. Corecore, an artistic movement taking over very specific parts of TikTok is something akin to Dadaism, but the Gen Z version. It’s hard to define but listen to Kat try! Either way, this was a fun episode and we hope you think so too! Happy listening! Follow us! @yscopodcast @itskatherineram @bruddahoule
30. Making of 'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac & Duelling
Happy New Year! In our first episode of 2023, we are back with brand new topics. Kat brings us to 1976 to the very intense, very drama-filled making of a legendary album; Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. She speaks about the betrayal, the relationships, the rampant drug use, while Jason dips his toe into the world of duelling. Like when a man offended you so you challenged him to s gun duel at sunrise? Y’know, the good ole days. We hope you enjoy our tangents and the very specific topics we’ve presented. Shoutout to the sources we used for this episode. 29. The Friendcast 2022
In our last episode of the year, we decided to try our hand at the Friendscast again. This time, we’re a little less drunk and a lot more focused. We explore an array of topics; some big, some small, some disturbing, and some cute. 2022 has been quite the year. It was beautiful and it was stressful but we’re still glad it happened. Thanks for sticking around. We love you and we appreciate you. Here’s to more wild things to check out in 2023! Happy listening! Follow us! @yscopodcast @itskatherineram @bruddahoule
28. Rent-a-Person & Jennicam
This week, we bring you a classic episode of YSCO: Jason asks Kat if she’d like to rent a person or if she would like to be rented out. Kat tells Jason about the first ever camgirl, Jennifer Ringley AKA Jennicam. Jason introduces Kat to debucari, the rent-a-fat-person business in Japan along with the other kinds of people you could rent, while Kat goes into the Jennicam’s origin story and how what she did lead to the start of camgirls. We talk a little bit human connection and how much we crave it, and we get a lot of math wrong. All in all, this was a very fun episode to make and we hope you enjoy. Shoutout to the sources we used for this episode. Without them, we are nothing: Meet the man who has made $280,000 renting himself out to do ‘nothing in particular’ https://fortune.com/2022/09/07/shoji-morimoto-japan-rental-do-nothing-man/ Jennifer Ringley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Ringley Happy listening! We discuss everything we like and didn’t like about the show, which dragon we liked best, and how dramatic it all was. We hope you like this special episode. We had fun trying something different!
