Sensory Issues: The Episode
In this week’s episode the Mystics spiral over the things that, once you know them, you cannot unknow 😵💫 And frankly, you shouldn’t have to suffer alone. Amber kicks things off by revisiting a deeply traumatizing relic from her high school years: a movie involving giant bugs, an aggressive mist/fog situation 🪳 and absolutely no reason for it to be as upsetting as it still is. She breaks down the plot in the simplest, funniest way possible. Next, Lesley takes the mic to expose dolphins 🐬 for what they truly are: not sweet ocean puppies, but calculated, intelligent predators of the sea with a PR team that deserves jail time. And finally, Amber closes out the episode with a hidden gem left behind by her home builders warranty guy, that may or may not explain five years of heightened paranoia, sensory overload, and one very specific villain origin story 🪭 Light-hearted, unhinged, and just self-aware enough, “Sensory Issues: The Episode” wraps up 2025 the only way The Mystics know how: sharing cursed knowledge, laughing through the discomfort, and making sure if we have to know this… you do too 🥰THE IMPORTANT LINKS AND CRED📸 Cover Art by Rainbowfishdesign🎶 The Grimm Mystics Theme Song by Bear Golden and Abby Golden

Sandra Hughes
In this week's episode The Mystics wander into the strange and sacred shadows of Yosemite as they explore the disappearance of Sandra Hughes, an experienced outdoorswoman known for her unmistakably bright blue hair, who vanished in 2020 under circumstances that still don’t add up. With care and compassion, The Mystics retrace Sandra’s final known steps: a wrecked campsite, scattered belongings, and several eerie sightings that left search teams puzzled. Despite her deep experience navigating wild spaces, Sandra slipped into the forest’s silence — and more than four years later, her story continues to perplex investigators and armchair sleuths alike. But this is Yosemite, after all... a place built on legends just as much as granite. So the Mystics also dive into the valley’s enduring lore: guardian spirits carved into cliffs, trickster forces said to protect the wilderness, and the ancient stories of the Ahwahneechee people who believed these lands were alive and listening. Balancing mystery with myth (and just a sprinkle of the Mystics’ usual humor), this episode honors Sandra’s story while exploring the deeper, older magic of Yosemite, a place where the line between the seen and unseen is never quite straight.🚨🚨 If you have any information about this individual or if you have been in the area south of Merced Pass and Buena Vista Crest during July 2020, please call 209-372-0610, even if you didn't see her or abandoned gear.THE IMPORTANT LINKS AND CRED📸 Cover Art by Rainbowfishdesign🎶 The Grimm Mystics Theme Song by Bear Golden and Abby GoldenNational Park Service Posting on SandraThe Bizarre Disappearance of Sandra Hughes, Where Are They PodcastThe Haunting Case of Sandra Hughes, Haunts PodcastMedium.com Article on SandraWSBT ArticleMariposa Gazette
It's Aliens, Duh!
In this week’s episode The Mystics beam up one of Colorado’s most bizarre and suspicious mysteries: the strange 1967 death of Snippy the Horse (real name: Lady). When Lady wandered off and was later found with the flesh mysteriously removed from her head and neck, and no blood anywhere 🤔 the entire town basically looked at the sky and said, “Yep, aliens.” The two saddle up and trot through the eerie details: scorched vegetation, weird chemical smells, locals feeling sick near the scene, and strange lights dancing over the San Luis Valley 🛸 But the real eyebrow-raiser? One of the only doctors to declare Lady’s demise “natural” just so happens to be from the Air Force. Huh. Totally normal. Nothing to see here. Please continue complying with your government-issued horse explanations 🤫🤫🤫 Grab your tinfoil hats, watch the skies, and join us for a cosmic ride through cattle chaos. Because when things get this weird, the explanation is obvious… It’s aliens, duh! 👽🐴✨THE IMPORTANT LINKS AND CRED📸 Cover Art by Rainbowfishdesign🎶 The Grimm Mystics Theme Song by Bear Golden and Abby GoldenDenver Public Library on Lady50 Years Later ArticleMore Mystery ArticlesWikipedia
